How to Get Medical Marijuana in Pennsylvania
To join Pennsylvania’s medical marijuana program, follow these four steps:
- Register with the Medical Marijuana Registry.
- Get certified by a state-approved physician.
- Pay for a medical marijuana ID card.
- Visit an approved dispensary in Pennsylvania to obtain your medical marijuana.
Costs
Medical marijuana treatment isn’t covered by insurance.
- Initial certification and examination: $150
- Annual recertification: $75
These costs are separate from the fee required by Pennsylvania for the medical marijuana card.

- Terminal illnesses
- Tourette syndrome
